Chris Roberts-Antieau began her art career by leaving art class the first day when her teacher told her she could not draw. She was always fascinated with fanciful and childlike images, which first translated into clothing, and then into her signature “fabric paintings.” Each wall hanging is made from freehand-cut cloth shapes, which hang behind glass in hand-painted frames. Each piece brings different emotions out from each viewer, but her humor shows through in the expressions on the faces and the humorous scenes. Chris says that, “my art is about the joy and wonder and humor that’s all around us, every day.” |
