Boris Bally is recognized as a cutting edge artist that utilizes recycled materials to create works of art that serve well in form, and function. Metalsmith, Sculptor and trash transformer, Boris Bally has been described as each and every one of these. “Anyone can make sexy work with expensive materials and a knowledge of the craft. The challenge,” Boris Bally suggests, “is to do it with garbage – to transcend the garbagy roots and create something else.” Create he does, utilizing cast-off road signs, revitalized discarded objects and recycled materials Boris Bally creates an incredible line of jewelry, flatware and even furniture. The newest addition to our Gallery, Boris transforms reclaimed aluminum road signs into pins for the lapel, salvaged signs from national and local highway departments into functional tables and chairs, and shield-like bowls that can be used as table centerpieces. Boris Bally was born in Pittsburgh and now lives in Providence, RI. This Internationally known artist’s work can be found at galleries in Paris, Switzerland and now Boise, Idaho. |
